US Bank Triple Cash Rewards Business Card Vs. Amex Blue Business Cash – Forbes Advisor
Always good welcome bonus and introductory APR
The American Express Blue Business Cash™ card (conditions apply. See rates & fees) comes with an attractive welcome offer for a card with no annual fee: a $250 statement credit after making purchases of $3,000 within the first 3 months of account opening. This offer is lower than the US Bank option and you have two months less to qualify, which could be a deciding factor between the two.
The card offers an introductory APR of 0% on purchases for 12 months from the date the account is opened, then a variable APR of 13.24% to 21.24% applies on purchases and balance transfers. Balance transfers must be completed within 60 days of account opening and a fee of $5 or 3%, whichever is greater, applies.
Cash back rate
This card comes with a much simpler win rate. Earn 2% cash back on all qualifying purchases up to $50,000 per calendar year, then 1%. This makes a great catch-all card, ideal for those who don’t want to wonder whether or not specific categories have a higher win rate.
Increased purchasing power
As long as you have a credit limit assigned to this card, you can enjoy flexible purchasing power. This allows you to spend beyond your credit limit when your business needs it. The amount is not unlimited but is determined by your card usage, payment history, credit history and other factors.
When you use this feature, your minimum payment on your next credit card statement would be whatever your payment was if your card was maxed, plus any balance over your assigned credit limit.
American Express offers a host of expense management tools to help keep your business running smoothly. Employee cards are capped at 99 per account but available at no additional cost and spending on these cards will credit your account with cash back. Once registered, automatic expense categorization can be used, allowing you to tag transactions with your QuickBook categories. Account alerts help you avoid late payments, monitor spending on all your cards, and notify you of suspicious or irregular activity. Finally, you can sign up for Vendor Pay by Bill.com. The basic plan has no monthly fees for the primary user.
This card is not designed or marketed as a travel card, but does offer a few benefits. Car rental loss and damage insurance* are available when you pay for a rental in full with your card and decline Collision Damage Waiver, exclusions apply. Global Assist® Phone Support* provides a service tote when on the go. Whether it’s a lost passport, missing luggage or emergency medical services, Global Assist is just a call away. Cardholders are responsible for all associated final costs.
