Significant collections of American coins and paper money presented at Stack’s Bowers auction in March 2021 in Las Vegas


Stack’s Bowers Galleries is proud to announce their March 2021 Las Vegas auctions, the company’s premier Showcase event for US and US coins and paper money of the year.

The highlight of this auction is the magnificent 1822 Capped Head Half Eagle Left of D. Brent Pogue Collection. It is the only specimen in private hands and serves as the pivot for a complete set of United States coins. Accompanying this piece is the most beautiful known 1797 Half dollar draped bust, also from Brand Virgile and the D. Brent Pogue collections. These two pieces will be sold in the store Night of rarities session held on the evening of Thursday, March 25.

In addition to these treasures, Stack’s Bowers Galleries March 2021 Las Vegas auction features many significant collections spanning all categories from Guide Book. Participants in the registry set will be delighted with the Washington Rainbow Collection, the # 1 PCGS register set of all time Washington neighborhoods, built with an emphasis on exceptional toning. The Washington Rainbows ensemble is marked by an impressive MS-66 (PCGS) 1932-D and a brightly toned MS-68 + (PCGS) CAC 1948.

An impressive supply of silver dollars and gold coins comes from the collection of Silas Stanley Roberts (1888-1966), which was assembled mainly in the first half of the 20th century and is now marketed for the first time.
